Isn't life grand?

Well...I'm new at the whole blogging thing, but I figured that there is no better way to start than to talk about the loves of my life! I, unlike most people, am lucky enough to have three of them: two girls and an adorable boy. They are my babies, my pets! Tas Tas, Midnight, and Sasha! Anyone who knows me, knows that they are my life. They can make my day better no matter what. Nothing is better than going home and being attacked by them! :)

Midnight is the sweetheart of the family. She is about 10 years old, and has been the best big sister to Tas and Sasha. She is an extremely overweight version of a black golden retriever. I got her from the pound when I was in 7th grade, and she has been the peace keeper of the family ever since. She always listens and never gets into any trouble.

Tas Tas on the other hand, is the complete opposite. He has been a handful since the day I got him! That story is quite interesting actually. I lived in Ecuador during the summer of 2007. One day, while we were touring Quito, we came across a man with two puppies on the street. One thing led to another, and soon we were holding them, and the guy was gone. We named one Tas Tas (its a saying from the orphanage meaning tsk tsk) and the other Chancita (which means little girl pig in Spanish). Chanchita went to live with a friend, and Tas made the long journey to the US with me.

As soon as he got to my house, he started causing problems. First of all, he didn't come alone. He brought a bunch of little Ecuadorian fleas with him. Great! We had to disinfect our entire house, including poor Midnight. Second, he was completely grumpy with anyone except for me. The first impression my family got was of him biting my poor mom! As soon as we got him in the house, he began to chew and tear things up. He even ate the wall. I can just picture Midnight sitting there watching and thinking "you're gonna get in trouble!"

Well anyways....that didn't last for long. He
grew out of his terrorizing phase, and has the most unique personality, so no one can dislike him for long. It may take him a bit to warm up to someone, but as soon as he does, he is the best dog anyone could ask for. He loves cuddling, kisses, and doing anything adorable for attention. I call him my little man. He will jump up and give me a smooch. I feel like I'm kissing my little boyfriend (that has lots of fur and a tail, kinda weird). He loves talking back and cries whenever he is left alone for too long. He is definitely the baby of the family.

That leaves me to Sasha. She is my little kitty. I got her last summer with my boyfriend and one thing led to another...fights ensued, and pretty soon, she was my "problem."
I had never had a cat before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Cats are nothing like dogs, at least not this one. She hates being touched, unless she is going to sleep or being rubbed behind the ears, she is an extremely picky eater, she bites and scratches, she is the prissiest little thing I've ever seen, but despite all of that, I love her anyways. She is adorable when she purrs. She loves sitting on my lap when I'm watching tv. She is hilarious to watch. Although it took me a little bit to get used to having a cat, I'm glad I do!

I would be a very sad girl with out these guys!
